Chapter 9

Taeyeon was cleaning the garden with Hyoyeon. “Psst.”, Taeyeon turned to see where the noise is coming from. “Psst! Kim Taeyeon!”, she looked behind a tree and was about to shout when she saw it was Leeteuk. So, he grabbed her and covered her mouth. He dragged her with him and hid behind the tree. “Don’t shout.”, he whispered as he released her. “What do you want?”, she asked. It was obvious on her tone that she’s annoyed. “Where’s Donghae?”, he asked. “In his room.”, she answered. She was about to leave when Leeteuk pulled her back. “I don’t know where it is. Come with me.”, he pleaded. “Fine. Let’s go.”, she gave up. “You know, you could have just entered on the front gates and ask the internal manager to bring you to Donghae. Why risk sneaking and get caught?”, she asked as they went to Donghae’s room, hiding everytime a guard would pass by. “If I would ask permission from her then I won’t be able to do what I want. She’ll have those stupid palace maids follow me all the time.”, he grumbled. “Ehem!”, Taeyeon coughed. “Oh, sorry!”, he apologized

 

“Yul.”, Taeyeon called Yuri from the window. “Unnie.” Yuri went to her. “What are you doing with him?”, she asked when she saw Leeteuk. “He came for Donghae.”, Taeyeon answered. “Is he there?”, Leeteuk asked. “No, he just left with the princess.”, Yuri answered. “Wait a minute. Why are you two crouching like that? Are you hiding?”, she asked. “He sneaked in.”, Taeyeon pointed at Leeteuk. “What? Come in.”, Yuri went to open the door.

He can’t bear the glares that the two girls are giving him. “I’ll admit it. I’m supposed to sneak him out of the palace. We’re having a little party at Siwon’s house.”, he admitted. “And do you actually think he’ll come with you?”, Taeyeon asked. “Of course, he’d come.”, Yuri muttered. “Ouch!”, she reacted when Taeyeon hit her. “I had already called him. He was the one who told me to sneak in.”, he answered. “See?”, Yuri said to Taeyeon. “But, if ever something happens to the both of you, we know nothing about it. Is that clear?”, Taeyeon warned Leeteuk, pointing a finger near his eyes.

 

“Taengoo!”, Hyoyeon shouted as she entered their headquarters. “Hyo, what happened?”, Sooyoung asked. “Kim Taeyeon! How could you be so unfair?!”, Hyoyeon went to Taeyeon, “Why had you suddenly left me alone? Don’t you know how hard it is to clean the garden alone? Where have you been?” Yuri looked at Taeyeon. “I went to Yuri. I helped her.”, Taeyeon lied. “In fixing Donghae’s room? That wasn’t much work compared to ours!”, Hyoyeon complained. “I’m sorry. Okay?”, Taeyeon tried to calm her. “Taeyeon-unnie.”, Seohyun called Taeyeon, “Weren’t you the one whom I’ve seen with Leeteuk-oppa a while ago?”, she asked. The others turned to Taeyeon. “Where have you seen them?”, Sooyoung asked. “At the garden. Hiding behind a tree.”, Seohyun answered. “Kim Taeyeon, you traitor! We’re supposed to hate them!”, Sooyoung reprimanded Taeyeon. “Look. I swear that wasn’t me!”, Taeyeon defended herself.

 

“Assigning her as your palace lady?”, Heechul laughed. “What happened to getting rid of her?”, Sungmin asked. “I’ve changed my mind. I think I’d like to play with her a little bit, so that I won’t die being with that witch princess.”, Donghae said. “Speaking of playing, I had just thought of playing with someone.”, Hangeng said while playing with his wine glass. He flipped his phone open and dailed a phone number. “Hello?”, said the voice from the other end of the line. “Hello! Sooyoung-sshi?”, Hangeng said. Some of the boys looked curiously at him. “Han Geng? What do you want?”, Sooyoung said already starting with an angry tone. “Can you please give your phone to Taeyeon-sshi? Leeteuk-hyung would like to talk to her about what happened a while ago.”, Hangeng replied. Leeteuk’s eyes widened, “HANGENG!” But Hangeng just waved a hand to stop him. “A while ago? What happened?”, Sooyoung asked. Hangeng laughed, “Don’t you know they were together a while ago? They were playing hide-and-seek with the guards.” And just as he expected, she dropped the call. “There will definitely be a riot at the headquarters right now.”, Zhou Mi predicted. “It’s Sooyoung-sshi we’re talking about anyway.”, Ryeowook added. “Wait a minute. Hankyung, since when have you gotten Sooyoung-sshi’s number?”, Siwon asked getting another bottle of wine. “It’s been quite a long time since I got it.”, Hangeng answered then turned to Leeteuk, “Anyway, aren’t you already happy, hyung? We had taken revenge on that girl for threatening you?” Everyone looked at Leeteuk anticipating his answer. “I don’t really know.”, he answered.

Chapter 8

Yuri can’t help but feel outraged about her new assignment. “Well, Yul?”, Donghae said as he sat, watching Yuri fix his things. “What do you really want? Why did you ask for me to be your palace maid?”, she asked facing him. “I can’t be the only one suffering here, you know.”, Donghae replied coolly then mumbled, “Of all the people, why does it have to be Sunye?” Yuri stared at him, “Don’t tell me that you’re the princess fiance?”. He stood up and said , “Unfotunately, yes. Why else would I be suffering staying for that girl?”. “And now you’re trying to make me suffer just because you’re suffering too?”, she angrily said. He nodded smiling like a fool. “You know what you’re not the only one suffering here. I’ve already lost something important and have no idea how or where to find it.”, she walked closer to him, “And now you’re trying to add up to my problems. Why do you want me to suffer this much? What have I done to you?”. He suddenly pulled her, “What have you done to me?”, his voice turned serious that Yuri became afraid, and she tried to release his grip. But, instead he pushed her to the sofa he used to be sitting on. “Do you really want to know?”, he asked as he leaned towards Yuri, his hands gripping the back of the sofa. “Donghae.”, Yuri said afraid of his change in attitude.

*”Seriously? Would those pretty girls be our classmate?”, Eunhyuk asked looking at the group of 9 girls sitting together at the lobby. “Don’t take them for yourself, hyung.”, Ryeowook said. “If I’m not mistaken that blonde and those shorties would be in our class.”, Leeteuk agreed pointing at Taeyeon, Sunny and Jessica. Sungmin, Kangin and Heechul nodded. “While the tall one and the one beside her will be class mate with Kibum, Hangeng, Yesung and Zhou Mi.” Leeteuk added, pointing at Yoona and Sooyoung. “The one eating sweet potatoes will be our classmate right, Kyu?”, Ryeowook asked Kyuhyun who was just staring at the girl. “Henry?”, he turned to Henry who nodded to him. “So that only leaves those three for you, Hyukkie.”, Kangin laughed at the dispaired Eunhyuk.

But, while the others were having commotion, Donghae was just staring at a single member of the group. “Hey, Donghae.”, Yesung tried to distract him. His view was blocked by a turtle which startled him and made him jump and shout. “Yesung, will you stop doing that!”, he said as he stood back up. “But you were staring into space.”, Yesung replied innocently. “Huh? Who were you staring at, Donghae?”, an intrigued Heechul asked. “Nothing. Besides, I’m not staring.”, an annoyed Donghae said as he stood back up. “You were staring. I saw you. You were staring at the girl that’s dancing over there.”, Yesung disagreed. “You mean, Kwon Yuri?”, Sungmin asked Yesung. ‘Yeah, I guess.”, Yesung replied. “Yuri’s her name?”, Donghae suddenly asked. The other nodded.*

*From then on, he tried annoying her to get her attention. He tried to tease her every chance he got. Fortunately for him, she became his classmate every year. There was only an instance where he learned that she would be in a different class. He immediately requested the administration to put her in his class.*

*Anyeong hasseyo!”, a guy greeted Yuri, “Yuri-sshi, I’m your dance partner, remember?” Yuri nodded, “Yes, Anyeong!” “I would just like to ask you about your idea for our routine, next week.”, he said. They had a conversation. When he bid farewell, Yuri smiled, a smile that she would never show to Donghae. ‘This guy.’ Donghae thought angrily.

He used to see Yuri together with her dance partner; that, he had grown jealous of it. And he had gotten full of it when he had seen them hugging each other when they had lost on the competition. He was actually about to console Yuri, but he had already seen her crying in the guy’s arms.*

*”You want to get rid of her just because of that?”, Zhou Mi asked as they celebrate in Henry’s house. “Of all those times I had wasted on her. It’s just so unfair.”, Donghae replied. Who told you to continue getting attracted to her all these years?”, Hangeng said, “We had always tried to put your attetion to other girls, but you stubbornly stick to that stupid childhood crush of yours. Now what?” “That’s why I already want to get rid of her. I would do anything just to make sure that she would be leaving the school.”, Donghae said looking at everyone. “Why don’t you just ask the administration to kick her out?”, Sungmin asked. “I still want her to suffer in my own hands; before she leave the school.”, Donghae said and everyone looked at him.*

“Donghae?”, he heard Yuri say his name. He got distracted out of his thoughts and saw Yuri staring at him. “You all right?”, she asked. “Yeah.”, he nodded. Thay stared into each other until, “Donghae.”, Sunye called him. They got distracted out of their position. Yuri returned to fixing his things. Donghae went to Sunye who was obviously glaring at Yuri. “Why? You need something?”, he asked. “You’re supposed to help me with my palace studies, remember?”, Sunye said. “Uh, of course.”, he left with her.

Chapter 7

“Nice to see you again, Sunye-sshi.”, the king greeted. “Yes, nice meeting you again too, mama.”, Sunye bowed, so that the necklace would be noticed. They had a little conversation and in the middle of it the queen went to Sunye. “Sunye-sshi, can I ask you one thing?”,  she asked. “Yes, mama?”, Sunye looked at the queen. “Your necklace. Where have you gotten it?”, The queen inquired. “My parent’s told me that it’s with me when I was left at their door. They thought that maybe it was from my real parents.”, Sohee explained. The couple looked at her and into each other.

“Mr. Min, there was a call from the palace.”, Min Joonhee’s secretary said. “The king and queen wanted to talk to you right now.”,  he looked at his secretary. “Did they mention why?”, and asked. “No, sir.”, she replied, “They just asked you to come there with your wife.”
“Mama, Mr. and Mrs. Min have arrived.”, the messenger annouced. “Sunye-sshi, can you please just stay outside for a while.”, the queen requested and Sunye followed. “Let them in.”, the king instructed.

Sunye’s foster parents bowed as a greeting, and took a seat. “You have asked for us, mama?”, Joonhee asked. “Yes, it was actually about Sunye.”, the king said. “What about her?”, Mrs. Min asked, worried. “We just want to ask about her real parents, if you don’t mind. What do you know about them?”, the queen replied. “We actually know nothing about them, mama.”, Joonhee said. “Then, by any chance, will you let her live with us?”, the king asked them. “Why, mama?”, Mrs. Min looked at them. “We actually got a feeling that maybe Sunye-sshi is our long lost daughter.”, the king explained. “It actually depends on Sunye-sshi”, Joonhee replied an was surprised by Sunye’s entrance.

She kneeled in front of her foster parents. “Please let me stay with my real parents.”, she begged them. “But Sunye–“, Mrs. Min was about to disagree. “Is this what you really want?”, Joonhee asked Sunye. She nodded. “Mama, we have to go. Please take care of our Sunye.”, he said and left with his wife.

“Hey Shindong! Pass the ball!” Hnageng called. It was already the middle of the night and the 15  boys were still playing basketball at the school court. When suddenly, “Donghae, you got a phonecall.”, Eunhyuk gave Donghae’s phone to him. “Huh?”, Donghae wondered as he got his phone from Eunhyuk. “Hello?”, he said. “Mr. Lee Donghae, the king would like to talk to you.”, the palace messenger said through the phone. “This late at night?”, he asked. “Yes, sir.”, the palace messengeer answered. “All right, I’ll come.”, Donghae said and ended the call. “I wonder what the palace wants with our Fishie?!”, Leeteuk said. “I really have no idea.”, Donghae replied and gathered his things.

“We’re sorry for interrupting you while you’re resting.”, the queen apologized. “No, it’s fine,mama.”, Donghae said. ‘I wasn’t resting anyway.’, he thought. “Anyway we would like to discuss some things with you.”, the king said. “About?”, he asked. “We had actually found our daughter, and we’d like to ask you to help her with her palace studies.”, the king answered, “Considering that you’re her fiance, you should also be staying here in the palace during such time.”. “May I ask who the princess is, mama?”, Donghae politely asked. “You must know Min Sunye. She’s you’re classmate right?”, the queen replied. “Yes, mama.”, he answered, “But can I ask one favor?”. “Yes, you may.”, the queen agreed. “What is it?”, and asked. “Can I choose my own palace maid?”, he requested . “All right.”, the queen said, “Who would you want then?”. Donghae smiled and said, “Kwon Yuri.”

Chapter 6

“Yul! You got a phone call.”, Hyoyeon said giving Yuri her phone. “Hello?”, Yuri answered the call. “Hello? Is this Kwon Yuri-sshi?”, the person asked. “Yes, I ‘m Kwon Yuri. Who’s this?”, she replied. “It’s me, Lee Donghae. Your long-time classmate. Wow! I can’t believe it. I finally got your number.”, Donghae said, and she even heard him laughing on the other side of the phone. “How did you get my number?”, she asked. “That doesn’t matter, at least I won’t have to miss your lovely voice anymore.”, he said sweetly. Yuri started to blush, “What the -? YOU’RE CRAZY!!!”, She dropped the phonecall. Everyone stared at her. “I really need to change my phone number.”, she said then returned to her work.

*”So you’re saying that she’s the lost princess?”, Sohee inquired. “Yes. I was actually the one who gave her to the Kwons.”, Yoon Jung admitted.*

‘Now, I’m going to take everything from you, Kwon Yuri,’, Sohee thought. She knocked on the door. “Come in.”, a man responded from inside the room. She put on a smile as she entered. “Dad.”, she greeted him with a kiss. “So, does my princess want anything?”, he asked her. “Well, it’s been a long time since we had visited the palace. I would actually like to go for a visit.”, she requested. “Okay. I’d ask the driver to send you there.”, he agreed. “Great! I love you, dad!”, she hugged him excitedly. She smiled maliciously as she closed his office door and went back to her room.

“This day was so tiring !”, Yuri sighed. She took off her clothes and put her necklace on top of it. As she was taking a bath, thoughts entered her mind.

*”At least I won’t have to miss your lovely voice anymore.”, his sweet voice entered her mind. “I miss you, Yul.”, a scene of Donghae hugging her flashed in her mind as she heard the past statement.*

*”How did they actually thought that the maid is their daughter?”, she asked. “Because of the necklace. It was unique, especially made for the family.”, Yoo Jung replied.*

‘It must be somewhere in here.’, she thought as she entered Yuri and Hyoyeon’s room. And just as she thought, she found Yuri’s necklace on the top of her bed. She took it and sneaked out of the room.
“Ah! What am I doing?”, Yuri said as she come back to her senses. “Kwon Yuri, stop whatever you’re trying to think about.”, she muttered to herself. “Whatever? Or whoever?”, someone said. Yuri was surprised that she turned to find Hyoyeon standing by the sink. She turned the shower off and wore her bathrobe. “What are you doing here?”, she asked as she grabbed her towel. “When I entered the room I heard you shout. I thought something happened . It turned out that you’re just talking to yourself.”, Hyoyeon recalled. “So, what was it you’re thinking about?”, Hyoyeon asked, “Was it Donghae?”, and giggled as she asked the second question. “Shut up.”, Yuri said plainly as she went out of the bathroom.

After she had changed her clothes, she went to get her necklace only to find that it’s missing. “Hyo?”, Yuri called her friend. “Yes, Mrs. Lee?” Hyoyeon teased in reply. Yuri glared at her. “Just joking.”, Hyoyeon waved her hands in front of her trying to defend herself. Yuri just sighed. “Why? What is it?”, Hyoyeon asked. “Have you seen my necklace?”, Yuri looked at her. “No. Why?”, Hyoyeon went to her. “It’s missing.”, Yuri stated looking at Hyoyeon’s eyes.

Chapter 5

“Unni, I really feel that the girl is our daughter. What do you suggest I should do?”, the queen consulted her sister-in-law. “Your majesty, I think you should think about it deeply first. We can’t bear to make mistakes about such things.”, the sister-in-law replied. “But-“, the queen was about to say something. “The girl’s still a palace maid. What do we know about her? Don’t tell me you’d entrust the future of the royalty to her just because of your impulse.”, the sister-in-law blocked her. “Yes, I guess you’re right.”, the queen agreed. A smirk protruded on the sister-in-law’s lips as the queen agreed with her.
“Hello, can I speak with Ms. Min Sunye? This is Lee Yoon Jung speaking.”, Yoon Jung said through the phone as she drove her car. “Just a moment, ma’am. Ms. Min is still finishing some paper works.”, Sunye’s secretary replied. “Tell her this is urgent.”, Yoon Jung insisted. “Okay ma’am.”, the secretary said. After a moment, “Hello, umma.”, Sunye whispered on the phone. “Sunye, Se Bin is already having a feeling that she had found her daughter.”, Yoon Jung said. “Really? Who?”, Sunye asked. “The palace maid, Kwon Yuri.”, Yoon Jung answered. “Kwon Yuri.”, Sunye muttered to herself.

*A young girl was playing the piano and had finished the piece smoothly. Everyone clapped. “Woooh! Yuri, I Love You!”, a boy stood up clapping. He was trying to tease the girl. “Mr. Lee, sit down.”, the teacher instructed him, and he followed. ‘I really hate her! Why does she have to get all of Donghae’s attention?’, Sunye thought enviously.*

* “I really hate him!”, Yuri said irritatingly. “I really don’t think he would stop bothering you.”, Taeyeon said. Yuri heaved a sigh. “How could you actually hate your situation?”, Sunye said startling the group of 9. “Who wouldn’t hate being bothered by that guy all the time?”, Yuri replied. “No one. In fact, a lot of girls think you’re lucky ’cause you get all of Donghae’s attention.”, Sunye stated. “Really? Well, I hate it.”, Yuri said then stood up. Sunye pulled her back, “Don’t act like it was just nothing to you. I know you love it, so don’t pretend that you hate it.”, and she yelled at Yuri. Yuri just stare at her, then stood again, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” With that all 9 left Sunye alone.*

*”Yul! We’re classmates again, huh?”, Donghae put an arm around Yuri’s shoulder. “Unfortunately for me, yes.”, Yuri mumbled and removed Donghae’s arm from her shoulder. She went to her seat leaving him by the door. He grinned and rushed to her. Before she could even get to sit, Donghae hugged her from behind. “I missed you, Yul!”, he said smoothly. Sunye was so angered by the sight that she wanted to destroy Yuri from that time.*

Chapter 4

That night at the palace, Donghae’s absence became a topic. “He hadn’t actually told us anything. He just said that he doesn’t feel like going.”, Mrs. Lee said. “Oh, is that so?”, the king said. The couple nodded. The queen noticed Hyoyeon and Sooyoung cleaning outside the room. She asked the internal manager to call them.

“Mama.”, Sooyoung and Hyoyeon bowed before the royal couple. Then they bowed as a greeting to Donghae’s parents. “The two of you are Donghae’s classmates, aren’t you?”, the king asked. “Donghae-nim is actually my sunbae. Hyoyoen-sshi, here, is his classmate, mama.”, Sooyoung answered. “Then, did you happen to know anything that would have happened to him at school?”, he turned to Hyoyeon. “Why have you asked, mama?”, Hyoyeon asked back. “I just thought that maybe something bad happened to him there, that’s why he doesn’t feel like going here.”, he answered. “Maybe, he was afraid to face Yuri-sshi because of what he’d done to her.”, she explained. “Yuri-sshi? You mean palace lady Yuri?”, he inquired. Hyoyeon nodded. “Can you ask her to come here.”, he instructed. “Yes, mama.”, she said and went to call Yuri.

“So, he’d done some prank again, huh?”, Mr. Lee muttered to himself, “I guess we’d have to go, mama. We’ll talk to our son about this.”, and he excused him and his wife out of the palace. “Yes, well, see you tomorrow.”, the king replied.

“Do you know anything about this?”, the queen asked Sooyoung, who was still in the room. “I have only seen Donghae-nim hugging Yuri-sshi in the locker room, mama. I don’t really know the preceding events and the reason.”, Sooyoung honestly answered. “Hmm, I see.”, the queen nodded. “You may go then, thank you.”, and permitted Sooyoung to leave.

Hyoyeon had run around almost the whole palace and still hadn’t found Yuri. Until, she heard the noise coming from a room. She opened the door, “Yuri.” Yuri turned to find Hyoyeon almost out-of-breath. “Hyoyeon?”, Yuri helped her up. “The king wants to speak with you.”, she said as Yuri assisted her to a chair. The others looked at each other. “About Donghae.”, she added. “Oh no!”, Taeyeon reacted. They all looked at Yuri, and Yuri left to see the king.

“Mama, Palace Lady Yuri has arrived.”, the messenger announced. “Let her in.”, the queen instructed. Yuri entered and bowed, “Anyeong hasseyo, mama.” The couple nodded, “Anyeong hasseyo.” They asked her to sit and she followed. “Was it true? That Donghae had done something wrong to you, that’s why he isn’t here?”, the queen asked her. “Yes, mama. But, it was just a simple prank, and everything’s all right now.”, she replied. She tried to lie, afraid of what Donghae might do if she tell the truth. “Though, I don’t know why he isn’t here.”, she added. “Well, it’s good to know that there’s no harm done.”, the queen smiled and remembered what Sooyoung had said. “Do you really think that what happened between the two of you has no relation to this?”, the king interrupted. “Yes, mama.”, she nodded. “All right, you may go.”, the king said.

As Yuri bowed before she leave, her necklace had hung down her neck. After she had gone, the queen asked the king, “Have you seen it?” “Yes. Do you think?”, the king turned to face her. She smiled.

Chapter 3

Yuri had arrived early that Monday and was reviewing for the exams while listening to music on her earphones. In the middle of her review, someone had suddenly pulled her earphones from her ears. “Hey, Yullie! You’re early!”, Donghae smiled at her. “What do you want?”, she turned her back to face him. “Nothing.”, Donghae said innocently and went to his seat. “Oh wait, I think I forgot my book in the locker room. Can you get it for me, Yul?”, he went in front of her. “And why would I do that? Get it yourself.”, Yuri replied still staring at her book. “I don’t really feel like doing it. That’s why you should get it for me; unless, you want to be in trouble with your supervisor.”, he said confidently. “Fine!”, Yuri stomped out of the room.

When she reached the locker room of Donghae and his gang, she quickly searched for his book. “I only have 5 minutes left. Come on, show up!”, she muttered after she noticed the time at her watch. Suddenly, the door of the locker room closed. Yuri ran to it and found that it was locked from the outside. “Hey! Whoever’s out there please open this!”, she called. “Help me! Please!”, she called again as she continued knocking hard on it. Then, she remembered something.

*”You mean all 15 of them were staying in one locker room?”, Sooyoung asked suprised, “Yep.”, Sunny nodded. “But considering their attitude and behavior, won’t they be disturbing the neighboring rooms?”, Tiffany asked. “Kibum told me that it was actually made with sound proof walls so they can have their privacy.”, Yoona answered. “You seem to be close, huh?”, Sooyoung teased Yoona. “Shut up, unnie.”, Yoona brushed her off. *

Tears started to well up her eyelids. ‘No, it’s not gonna end like this.’ she tought. She banged the door hoping to attract attention then she realized that classes had already started. She felt as if everything had fallen down and she seemed to lose all the energy she has. As she sat by a corner, she can’t help but cry.

Classes had started. Donghae hadn’t actually left his book at the locker room. He just used it as an excuse to lure Yuri into his trap. He had instructed some freshmen to lock Yuri in the locker room and let her out after the first class has ended. “Where could Yuri be now?”, Donghae could hear Tiffany mutter from the back.

It’s already breaktime and Yuri hasn’t shown up yet. ‘I thought I told them to let her out after the first class. Why isn’t she here yet?”, Donghae thought. “We’ve already warned you.”, Siwon said leaning towards Tiffany. “We told her not to, but she insisted because of the test.”, Tiffany whispered back, “Now, where could she be?”, and she leaned problematically on her desk. The two got suprised when Donghae suddenly stood up and ran out of the classroom. Tiffany straightened up and exchanged curious looks with Siwon.

He unlocked the locker room and saw Yuri crying in a corner. “Yuri.”, he said as he moved to the center of the room. Yuri looked at him and stood up while wiping her tears. “Are you happy now?”, she asked him frankly, “You got me detained. You made me miss an important exam. In fact, you had played all the worst possible tricks on me.” Donghae was taken aback by what she’d said. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to lock you in here this long. I asked those freshmen to let you out after first period.”, he tried to apologize. “It wouldn’t have made any difference.”, Yuri started to walk towards the door. Donghae tried to block her, “Look, I’m really sorry. I never thought-.” “Whatever.”, she cut him off and moved past him. He raced her towards the door. He reached it before her and pushed it close. “I won’t let you out; unless, you forgive me.”, he said. “What do you really want from me? You have made fun of me. Haven’t you still had enough?”, she replied angrily. “Forgive me.”, he said plainly. “Do you actually expect me to forgive you after everything?”, she refused. “Fine. Then, we’ll both stay here until you decide to forgive me.”, he insisted. “Do you really hate me this much? Why do you want to keep destroying my life?”, she said as tears started to fall from her eyes, “Thanks to you, I already know what it feels to be in hell.” Donghae just kept silent as she said those words, then he suddenly felt her hitting his chest. “Let me out! Let me out!”, she cried as she continued hitting him. Absent-mindedly, Donghae grabbed her and pulled her into a hug.

While taking their break, Sooyoung and Yoona happened to pass by the locker room of Donghae’s group of friends. “Wonder why the curtains weren’t down?”, Yoona said. “It’s obvious that nobody’s in there.”, Sooyoung said matter-of-factly. “I don’t think so unnie.”, Yoona pointed something to Sooyoung. When she turned to the direction Yoona was pointing at, she was so surprised that she dropped her food. Donghae is hugging Yuri. It was something that could have happened at the end of the world. Sooyoung was about to make a violent reaction, if Yoona hadn’t pulled her away from the scene.

“Yoona-sshi.”, the girls turned to see Kibum standing behind them. “Ah, hey!”, Yoona greeted him. “Hey! Kibum!”, Sooyoung greeted casually, “Oh! I forgot I still have to do something.”, and she went after she had excused herself. ‘Sooyoung!’, Yoona thought angrily watching her friend leave. “Is there a problem, Yoona?”, looking at her facial expression. “No, there’s none. Everything’s fine.”, she replied, obviously lying. He just smiled at her antics. “So, what did you come here for?”, she asked. “I just want to ask about our science project. Have you thought of any idea about it?”, he replied. “Well, the truth is, I haven’t done anything about it yet.”, she admitted, “I’m sorry.” Kibum can’t help but laugh then he patted her hair and said, “It’s okay.”

Chapter 2

The girls were having their Saturday off from work. Taeyeon, Tiffany and Jessica were shopping and had left the others studying and resting. “Taeyeon, don’t you think we should buy them something?”, Jessica suggested. “Yeah, let’s go to that sweets shop.”, Taeyeon pointed the sweets shop owned by Sunny’s aunt.

When they entered the shop, they had seen Siwon, Leeteuk, Heechul and Hangeng. “If it wasn’t our beloved scholar girls.”, Hangeng greeted. “Will you please stop bothering us.”, Jessica said trying to get pass them. Heechul grabbed her, “You know, if you only weren’t friends with Yuri, I would’ve liked you. To think that you have such a beautiful blonde hair.”, he said sliding his fingers on a few strands of her hair. “What do you have against Yuri anyway?”, Tiffany asked. “That, we can’t answer. I suggest you ask Donghae about it.”, Siwon answered. “Fine. Now, will you please move.”, Taeyeon pushed through them. “Wait.”, Leeteuk  called them back. They stopped but didn’t turn around. “If I were you, I will tell Yuri not to attend classes on Monday.” Taeyeon looked at him as if he were crazy, “And why would we do that?”. “Because Donghae has planned something big against her.”, Leeteuk replied. “There’s a special exam on Literature on Monday. That’s important to her. She need to attend that.”, Tiffany said. “Well, it’s up to you.”, Heechul said then winked at Jessica before they leave. “What the-?”, Jessica reacted at his final greeting. “What should we do?”, Tiffany wearily asked. “We’ll talk to Yuri about this.”, Taeyeon answered. “For now, let’s buy sweets for them.”, Jessica said.

“Yuri – unnie, they’re right. Maybe you should skip classes.”, Yoona agreed with the three. “Do you actually believe those fools?” , Yuri looked at all of them. The three nodded. “It’s not hard to believe them. They seemed serious about it.”, Tiffany explained. “Except for Heechul.”, Jessica added. “Whatever, I will still attend my classes. I have already studied for our Literature exams. There’s no way I’d miss that.” , Yuri stubbornly said.

Chapter 1

“SEO JOO HYUN!!!”, a shout could be heard all over the neighborhood. “Yah! Umma, you don’t need to shout.”, Seohyun said rubbing her ears. “It’s your fault. You should’ve responded at once.”, her mom said stubbornly. “Fine.”, Seohyun gave up. “Anyway, what do you want?”. Her mom grinned. “Oh no.”, she muttered. “Come on Seo. I promise this would be the last.”, her mom begged her. “But I still have to go to school.”, she went to her bike. “Oh right. Your holiday has ended and you still can’t give me this favor.”, her mom pouted. Seohyun grumbled then reached out. Her mom brightened up, “Great! Just give this to Mrs. Park Joon Geum. Her house is third street from here.”. She gave Seohyun the money then went back to the house. Seohyun was left gaping outside, “Third street down? It’s already 7:30! Ah!”.

When she arrived at school, she parked her bike and ran to the main gate. She smiled when she saw  walking. She ran to her and put an arm on Yoona’s shoulder. “Hey!”, she smiled. “Unni!”, Yoona smiled, “You’re almost late.”, and stated. “Yeah, I know .”, Yuri grinned then frowned, “Thanks to my mom.” Yoona curiously stared at her. “You see, she made me pay her debt to the ahjumma who lives three streets down from ours. That had just added up to my route.”, Yuri explained. “Well, we better hurry before classes start.”, Yoona pulled her.

Almost out of breath, Yuri opened her classroom door. About to be glad that the teacher is not there yet, she got victimized again by the “Lee Donghae Prank”. Just as she stepped on the  threshold, a blackboard eraser fell on the top of her head. And when she raised her head, while wiping the chalk dusts off her hair, a paper plane hit her forehead. The classroom was filled with the laughter of Donghae and his friends. Yuri unfolded the paper plane and saw that something is written on it.[written on the paper: Hahaha! You’re Funny!…=D Donghae] ‘Damn you, Lee Donghae.’, Yuri thought biting her lower lip. She went to her seat quietly, thinking of a way to get back.

They were having a quiz on Math class. “Hey, Yul.”, Donghae called quietly. “Yul.”, he kept bothering his seatmate. “Yu-“, he was about to call again when Yuri turned to him glaring. “Number 3.”, he smiled sheepishly. Yuri just returned to ignoring him. ‘Suffer thinking about that, you fool.’, she thought. She was going to smile when, “Kwon Yuri.”, Donghae called her without whispering. Angry and surprised, she faced him.

“Mr. Lee, Ms. Kwon. Stop talking. We’re having a quiz.”, the teacher reprimanded them. The class went on quietly, until the bell rang for lunch time. Everyone stood up and started leaving the classroom. “Ms. Kwon.”, the teacher called. Yuri went to him. Her friends waited by the door. “About what happened, a while ago, meet me later at my office.”, he said and left just as Yuri was about to protest.

“Yuri, are you alright?”, Tiffany asked her. Yuri just nodded. “This was all that Fishie’s fault!”, Hyoyeon said angrily. Just as they were about to turn on a corner, “Surely, she’ll get detained.”, they heard Siwon say. “Speaking of the devils.”, Yuri muttered. “Poor girl, it would not be long ’til she lose her scholarship.”, Donghae said just as the girls had shown up. “Oh! Hey, Yuri-sshi! Tiffany-sshi! Hyoyoen-sshi!”, Eunhyuk greeted. Donghae just smirked at Yuri. The girls just passed ignoring them.

“Ah! Why do I have to be this unlucky?”, Yuri slouched on her seat. “Aren’t you still used to it?”, Jessica asked. Yuri looked at her. “I mean, ever since you started attending this school, the two of you had always been classmates.”, Jessica stated. “And that was still since pre-school. Your mom was still the palace lady back then.”, Sunny added. “Making me face the fact that it had already been this long doesn’t comfort me at all.”, Yuri sighed then started eating her food.

The day had passed and Yuri felt relieved that she hadn’t received detention. “Good thing, you had been saved from detention Yul.”, Jessica said while cleaning the hallway windows. “Yeah.”, Yuri smiled while wiping the floors. She stand to move to another position then she got pushed back down when she bumped into… “Lee Donghae.”, she stood back up. “So, you’re saved, huh?”, he said coldly, ” I really wonder what you’ve done.” Angered by what he’d said, “Look, I may be a commoner but don’t insult me. I’m still a dignified  person unlike you. And do you really want me out of here that bad? Well, I’m sorry but you’d still have to bear with me until we graduate.”, she said. When she turned, she noticed the bucket of water she is using to clean the floor. She suddenly thought of a way to get back. “And I forgot,” she throw the water to Donghae, “Stop bothering me.”

“Why you?!”, Donghae tried to hurt Yuri but his friends were pulling him back. He was so angry at that time. But it wasn’t long until, “Ms. Kwon, I think I’ve changed my mind. I’ll be meeting you every afternoon of this week starting tomorrow for detention.”, their Math teacher came.

“Well, Yuri?”, Taeyeon mocked Yuri while cleaning a room in the palace. “I know it’s my fault!”, Yuri exclaimed, “But he provoked me!” Seohyun tried to comfort her, “Unnie, it’s all right.” Yuri smiled at her. ” Then that makes you hate the guy more, huh?”, Sooyoung asked. “That guy has ruined almost my whole life. There’s no way I could hate him less. He keeps on pestering me and destroying my reputation.”, Yuri stood up, “I really hate him!”. She had thrown the rug to exclaim her anger and it ended up hitting the newcomer.

“You really like throwing dirty things at me, huh?”, they turned to see Donghae at the door. “What are you doing here?”, Yuri asked, picking up her rag. “I have some business to do here, of course. Why else would I be in these boring place?”, he stated, “Besides , don’t you want to see me here?” He smiled at Yuri. “Who would ever want to see you?”, Yuri muttered. “Oh, is that so? Well, unfortunately, you would be seeing a lot of me starting from now.”, he said. “Wha-“, Yuri was about to ask. “And will you please behave yourself and stop throwing things at me; unless, you want me to tell your supervisor what happened right now.”, he added then left.

Prologue

It was a quiet night at the Royal Palace, only the sound of a crying newborn could be heard. The queen has given birth her eldest child. “It’s a girl, Mama.”, the palace midwife told the royal couple. A special kind of happiness could be seen on their faces as they hold their daughter.

Unknown to the couple, while they were resting, a plot is taking place. “Yes, do it now.”, a female voice said on the phone. After saying those words, she dropped the call. “Everything is going as planned. We are going to get what we want.”, sahe said holding her child.

After his master gave him the cue, he proceeded to do his task. He entered into the palace with some help. When he already had the princess, he went out of the palace and to his master. ‘I never thought this would be this easy.’, he thought.

Looking out the window, she heard a knock at the door. She smiled as she opened the door and saw her “secret agent” “You got her?”, she asked as she let him in. He nodded as he present the baby. “Good.”, she smirked as she get a phone from a drawer. “Hello.”, she said, “Can I speak to Mr. Min?”
“Hello, this is Min Joonhee.”, a different voice replied, “Who’s this may I ask?”
“Mr. Min, there’s no need for us to talk about that, remember?”, she answered, “I just want to remind you of our deal.”
“Ah, “that”. Yes, what about it?”, he asked.
“The child will be elivered to you tonight.”, she said then dropped the call. She turned to his agent and gave her daughter to him after getting the princess. “You know what to do.”, she said then he left. When her agent’s gone, she went out. She arrived at a street where commoners live and left the princess in front of one of the doors.
